Henry Flagler Museum in Palm Beach

While Henry Flagler's first showcase home was in Bellevue (The Gingerbread House also known as the YMCA here in later years), he went on to build numerous monumental homes and buildings. Many of these are in Florida since he took on building out Florida as we know it today as his second career after founding Standard Oil with J.D. Rockefeller.

One of the great homes he built was Whitehall in Palm Beach, FL. He built this as a wedding present for his new wife Mary Lilly (Kenan). They typicall only used the home for 6 weeks a year as their winter get away.

The home functions today as The Flagler Museum. It is a great visit and well worth seeing - especially if you have that "Flagler" connection as many in Bellevue do.
